CERAMIC GLAZE, METHOD FOR OBTAINING AGE-RESISTANT GLAZED TILES AND RESULTING TILE

The invention relates to a ceramic glaze of the type that contains water, a frit or mixture of melting frits, a pigment and kaolin, having the following composition: a) between 30 and 40 wt.-% water; b) between 50 and 65 wt.-% of a frit or mixture of high-melting frits; c) between 0 and 5 wt.-% of a pigment which develops a colour similar to that of the fired substrate; and d) between 3 and 8 wt.-% kaolin. When used to render ceramic glaze on tiles age resistant, the method comprises the following steps: a ceramic glaze having the above-mentioned composition is applied to the raw ceramic tile; the tiles are subjected to a normal firing cycle; the surface is treated with a cleaning solution; the fired tiles are covered with an inorganic photocatalytic coating containing TiO2; and a heat treatment is performed for between 5 and 20 minutes at temperatures of between 100 and 200°C.
