METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING AND DECODING BASED ON INTRA PREDICTION USING IMAGE INPAINTING

A method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding are provided to improve encoding compression efficiency by performing intra prediction exactly. An intra prediction encoding method comprises following steps. A current block is predicted by performing image restoration based on pixels of previously encoded area which are adjacent to the previously encoded area, and current block(810). A residual block about the current block is generated by subtracting current block from the prediction block generated by the prediction result(820). Therefore, encoding compression is efficiently performed by improving exactness of intra prediction.
