<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make both high performance and low power consumption compatible with each other by using a DDR (Double-Data-Rate) type memory element. <P>SOLUTION: When a high-speed operation is not requested, the low power consumption of an entire system is achieved by lowering the frequency of a clock signal supplied to a memory module while fixing a reference clock signal supplied to a DLL circuit.
