PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the step-shaped nonuniformity occurring during film making in a horizontal orientation process. SOLUTION: In the longitudinal orientation process in the manufacture of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film, a longitudinal orientation temperature is Tg to Tg+30°C, a longitudinal draw ratio is 2.8-3.5, the degree of crystallization of the thermoplastic resin film after being passed through the longitudinal orientation process is 5-20%, and the thickness nonuniformity is 15% or below.
