PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electric field light emitting element which has high brightness, is excellent in stability and durability, capable of enlarging an area and easy to manufacture, and to provide a display unit. SOLUTION: The organic electric field light emitting element is characterized in that an organic compound layer consists of one or more layers including a light-emitting layer, at least one layer of the organic compound layer contains one kind of charge transport polyurethane, and a buffer layer is provided in contact with at least one layer containing the charge transport polyurethane and a positive electrode, and contains at least one kind of charge injection material chosen from an inorganic oxide, inorganic nitride, and inorganic acid nitride.
