PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of electrically identifying the number of disks inserted into the disk device, realizing stable disk insertion/ejection by controlling the mechanism of the disk device based on its identification result, and reducing the damage of the mechanism of the disk device and the disk. SOLUTION: Near the disk insertion port of a casing 100, roller members 101 and 102 are disposed to come into contact with a disk 300 inserted into the device, to convey the disk, and to insert/eject the disk. A lever member 109 engaged with the lever engaging part 102a of the roller member 102 to rotate around an axial member 109a, and a push switch 110 for detecting the displacement of the lever member 109 are disposed. When the disk 300 is inserted into the device, the roller member 102 is displaced in an disk upper direction (A direction shown), and the lever member 109 is displaced in an H direction shown. By detecting the displacement of the lever member 109 by the push switch 110, the thickness of the disk inserted into the device is detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
