摘要 <p>Disclosed is a near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle which has high luminous intensity while having an extremely small particle diameter. This near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle is suitable for an agent for labeling biological substances. Also disclosed are a method for producing such a near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle and an agent for labeling biological substances using such a near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle. Specifically disclosed is a near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle having an average particle diameter of 2-50 nm, which emits a near-infrared light having a wavelength within the range of 700-2000 nm when excited by a near-infrared light having a wavelength within the range of 700-900 nm. This near-infrared light-emitting phosphor nanoparticle is characterized in that at least a part of its composition is represented by the general formula (1) below, and a metal element in the general formula (1) is supplied from a metal alkoxide which is used as a raw material. General formula (1): AQO3:X (In the formula, A represents at least one element selected from Ca, Sr and Ba; Q represents Ti or Zr; and X represents Nd or Yb.)</p>
