The present invention is directed to a novel saccharide composition isolated from a yeast culture. The invention is also directed to yeast cell based saccharide composition with increased wate r- solubility. The saccharide compositions disclosed in the invention can be used as nutritional or pharmaceutical additives or as part of nutritional or pharmaceutical composition in order to promote the health of an animal or human subject to which said compositio n is administered. The invention is also directed to methods of producing said saccharide compositions.
