<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method partially improving wear resistance of an input part in which shift drive from an external actuator is input without particularly attaching a separate member later in a drive ring of a variable mechanism built in a VGS type turbocharger and rotating variable blades all together. <P>SOLUTION: A drive ring 31 having a shaft part 12 of the variable blade 1 connected thereto is formed out of blank material B blanked out from metal material of roughly constant thickness. A blank with surplus reinforcement part 36bk other than actual product of the drive ring 31 is blanked during blanking. The reinforcement part 36bk is suitably turned back to partially increase thickness of an input part 36 in which shift drive from an actuator AC is input to improve wear resistance of the input part 36.
