CHANNEL SEARCHING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of scanning and searching for a nearest channel through bidirectional and/or spiral sensing for a dynamically-changing spectrum by cognitive radio transmission. SOLUTION: A method of a scanning method of scanning for an available channel of a frequency spectrum includes bidirectional search away from an initial channel frequency. The method includes steps to take when a boundary of the spectrum is encountered, and may also take into account existing information concerning channel reservation.
