PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for registering personal identification data simultaneously with face authentication to have a new utility value in face authentication. SOLUTION: A personal identification data registering device includes: a storage device storing projection matrix data representing a projection matrix generated from a plurality of pieces of image data representing faces of a plurality of persons and personal identification data showing component values characterizing faces of registered persons; and an arithmetic processor which calculates a component value characterizing a face of a person obtained by a camera on the basis of image data representing the face of the person and projection matrix data stored in the storage device, determines whether personal identification data showing a component value having an error from the calculated component value smaller than a prescribed threshold is stored in the storage device or not, and stores component value data showing the calculated component value into the storage device as personal identification data when the personal identification data is determined to be not stored in the storage device.
