PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna which is equipped with both functions of a patch antenna and slot loop antenna and is capable of performing communication with the same resonant frequency even if placed in a free space and attached to a conductive object. SOLUTION: On one face of a first board 2 of a dielectric body, there are provided a rectangular patch element 3, acting as a conductive object, an earth section 4 made up of a conductive object arranged so as to surround the patch element 3, a slot section 5 formed between the patch element 3 and the earth section 4, and a feeding section 6 for feeding to the patch element 3 and the earth section 4. A patch side of the patch element 3 is set so that the resonant frequencies become equal in operating as a patch antenna with the antenna attached to the conductive object and in operating as a slot loop antenna with the antenna arranged in a free space.
