PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard imaging and display device for automatically displaying images picked up by an onboard imaging means on an onboard display means without requiring a driver to operate a switch. SOLUTION: The image processing section 31 detects linear components in an image obtained by a side camera 5. When the speed of the vehicle detected by a speed sensor 81 does not exceed a predetermined value, when the length of a linear component detected by the image processing section 31 exceeds a predetermined value, and when the angle of the linear component is within a predetermined range, the CPU 35 decides to display the image obtained by the side camera 5 and controls the image processing section 31 to display the image on the display 2.
