The device (10) has a roller table (12) comprising a set of freely rotatably supported rollers (14). A drive unit (16) rotates a part of the rollers around an axis (43) that is arranged in the plane of the roller table. The drive unit is arranged under the roller table, and a rotating unit (33) rotates the drive unit around the axis that is perpendicular to the plane of the roller table. The device is arranged between two transportation sections. A control unit is provided. An independent claim is also included for a method for changing a transportation direction of bulk goods.
