<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector, in which use efficiency of light emitted from a light source lamp is high, having a light source device which emits light approximately parallel to an optical axis. <P>SOLUTION: The projector has the light source device, a color wheel, a light guide device 81, a light source side optical system, a display element, a light-source side optical system, a display element, a projecting side optical system, a cooling fan, and a projector control means. The light source device 61 is arranged in the vicinity of an emitting port 66 of a spheroidal reflector 63 where the light source lamp 62 is built in, and provides a light-concentrating device having a first reflection surface 77 wherein the light emitted from the emitting port 66 is reflected in a direction of a rotation center around an optical axis X of the reflector 63 as a rotation center axis, and a second reflection surface 78 wherein the light reflected by the first reflection surface 77 is reflected in the inside of the first reflection surface 77 in a direction along a rotation center axis as a rotation center axis of the optical axis X. The light-concentrating device 64 is a frustum-shaped rotary prism, and has a conical notched recessed section at the center of a frustum bottom. An outer peripheral side face of a rotary prism is set up to be a first reflection surface, and a side face of the notched recessed section is set up to be a second reflection surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
