PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a hinge unit for swingably connecting two panel bodies together, in such a manner that a swing supporting shaft of the panel body can be easily adjusted. SOLUTION: This hinge unit 6 makes side portions of the two main and auxiliary panel bodies 3 and 4 connected together in such a slidable manner that their attitudes can be freely changed between the folded attitude of making panel surfaces face each other and the extended attitude of making side end surfaces of the panels face each other. The hinge unit 6 comprises: a pair of mounting plates 11 which allow each of the panel bodies 3 and 4 to be fixed to a panel fixing piece 11a on a leading end side; a pair of gear bodies 12 which are integrally provided for the base end-side gear connecting pieces 11b of the mounting plates 11, respectively, and which are rotated in a mutually meshed state so as to make each of the mounting plates 11 swingable; and a gear plate 13 for rotatably supporting the gear bodies 12 in the meshed state along with each of the mounting plates 11.
