PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video output device of simple configuration having a burglarproof function. SOLUTION: The device includes a remote control light receiving section 1 for receiving a remote control signal, a remote control signal decision section 2 for analyzing the remote control signal, a remote control code processing section 3 for deciding the validity of a remote control code to which specific information for performing power-on processing of an apparatus obtained by analysis is added, a remote control code processing section 9 for deciding the validity of a normal remote control code, an ID storage section 4 storing a specific code for deciding the power-on processing information of an apparatus, and a section 8 for detecting main power on of an apparatus. It is further provided with a section 6 for controlling the power supply operation of an apparatus by comparing the validity of a remote control code to which a specific code for performing power-on processing of an apparatus is added.
