A porous body is made by sintering a powdered mixture prepared from a Raney alloy and an alloy having the molar composition NiAl and leaching out the inactive element of the Raney alloy. The NiAl is inert to the leaching agent and does not form insoluble alloys with the NiAl3. Three examples are given using Raney nickel (NiAl3) and NiAl. Specification 806,644 is referred to. |
