<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for obtaining, with excellent productivity, a retardation film which has a large tilt angle, has little fluctuation in the thickness of a liquid crystal hardened layer and has little change in retardation in a high temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the retardation film with tilt-aligned liquid crystal hardened layer includes the following process A to process C. The process A is a process of applying a liquid crystal composition containing at least one kind of polymerizable liquid crystal compound, solvent and acrylic leveling agent onto the alignment treatment surface of a substrate subjected to alignment treatment to form an applied layer. The process B is a process of drying the applied layer to form the tilt-aligned liquid crystal solidified layer. The process C is a process of irradiating the liquid crystal solidified layer with ultraviolet light to form the tilt-aligned liquid crystal hardened layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
