<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aggrecanase protein, a nucleotide sequence encoding the protein, a method for producing the same, an aggrecanase enzyme inhibitor for the treatment of symptoms characterized by the degradation of aggrecan, and a method for developing an antibody to the enzyme. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides a separated DNA molecule containing a DNA sequence having a specific sequence, an aggrecanase protein encoded by the DNA molecule, a method for producing a human aggrecanase protein by culturing and purifying a host cell transformed by the DNA molecule, an inhibitor for the aggrecanase activity, and an antibody to the enzyme. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
