PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a phase difference between a periodic signal and a reference signal within a certain range. SOLUTION: A signal generating circuit for outputting a periodic signal substantially identical in cycle to a predetermined reference signal includes: a waveform memory in which waveform data corresponding to at least a cycle of a periodic signal to be outputted, is stored so as to be associated with a plurality of addresses; an address pointer for designating the addresses cyclically for the waveform memory to repeat the output of waveform data associated with a designated address; a signal generating section for generating a periodic signal in accordance with waveform data outputted by the waveform memory; and a control section for increasing or decreasing the number of addresses to be designated by the address pointer, so as to reduce a phase difference between the periodic signal outputted by the signal generating section and the reference signal.
