PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of avoiding needless elongation of imaging time by preventing re-imaging after imaging due to the generation of aliasing artifact. SOLUTION: When setting an FOV 202 on a positioning image 201, estimation images 210, 220 of the result of actual imaging in the set FOV 202 are separately shown in a phase encode direction. The generated aliasing artifact 203 is shown in the estimation image 210. The setting of the FOV 202 can be changed, the FOV not generating artifact can be set, and the FOV in which the artifact is not superimposed on a part needed for actual diagnosis even though the artifact is generated can be set. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the case in which re-imaging after imaging due to the generation of the aliasing artifact. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
