The aim of the invention is to provide a sealing arrangement for sealing a rotating shaft and a shaft assembly comprising said sealing arrangement which allows the shaft to be sealed from the housing in a cost-effective and reliable manner. To achieve this aim, a sealing arrangement for sealing a rotating shaft (1) from a housing (3) comprises at least one radial seal (5) and a fan rotor (9) which is non-rotatably mounted on the shaft (1) so that sealing air acting upon the radial seal (5) is generated when the fan rotor (9) rotates. The sealing arrangement comprises guide elements (10, 11) that are arranged and/or configured in such a manner that the sealing air is guided past the radial seal (5).
