<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masticating/swallowing auxiliary agent that easily imparts gel characteristics to food for persons having difficulty in masticating and swallowing the food, by easily imparting the gel characteristics without requiring gelation treatment such as heat dissolving, cooling and suppressing influence by nature of the taste of food and drink, as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The masticating/swallowing auxiliary agent comprises, as main ingredients, a mixture of 2-40 pts.wt. xanthan gum with 98-60 pts.wt. glucomannan, or a mixture of 2-40 pts.wt. xanthan gum, 60-98 pts.wt. glucomannan and locust bean gum in a powdery state, wherein glucomannan is 20 wt.% or higher based on the total weight of the three components, and imparts the gel characteristics to food or drink by agitating at 5000 rpm or higher agitation under the condition of temperature below room temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
