<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a display panel to display an image of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: When driving display cells formed on the display panel to emit light with a plurality of grayscales, for the grayscales with higher luminance than a predetermined luminance level, a different luminance weight is allocated for each display line for each display line group consisting of the plurality of adjoining display lines, and a line dithering drive is executed to make each of the display cell belonging to each display line emit light with different luminance levels is performed. While for the grayscales with the lowest luminance among each of the grayscales with higher luminance than the predetermined luminance level, the luminance difference is made smaller between the luminance level when emitting light by the display cell belonging to the display line allocated with the largest luminance weight in comparison with the other luminance and the luminance level when emitting light by the display cell belonging to the display line allocated with the minimum luminance weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
