<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in processing load caused depending on situations when a contour is detected in an image of a three-dimensional space. <P>SOLUTION: A game apparatus generates an image as a three-dimensional virtual space where an object is arrayed is viewed from a prescribed visual point. Then, the game apparatus acquires a depth value (Z value) indicating the depth in the direction of the line of vision from the visual point in the three-dimensional virtual space per pixel of the image. Moreover, the game apparatus detects the pixels corresponding to the contour of the object from the depth values. To be more specific, a plurality of pixels is specified as control pixels and it is determined whether the pixels involved correspond to the contour from the degree of change in the difference of the depth values between the pixels covering the pixels involved and the plurality of control pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
