<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The battery is provided with an electrolytic solution as well as a cathode 21 and an anode 22 and the electrolytic solution is impregnated in a separator 23 installed between the cathode 21 and the anode 22. The anode 22 has an anode current collector 22A and an anode active material layer 22B provided in it. The anode active material layer 22B contains the anode active material having a plurality of pores, and the rate of change of permeation amount of mercury into the plurality of pores measured by a mercury injection method has a distribution showing a first peak (rate of change A) in the pore size of 3 nm or more and 50 nm or less and a second peak (rate of change B) in the pore size of 50 nm or more and 3,000 nm or less and the ratio A/B is 8/1 or less. Since the surface area of the anode active material is suppressed to be small, the electrolytic solution becomes hard to be decomposed even in the case the anode active material has a highly active silicon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
