PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass substrate for a plasma display panel and a glass substrate for a plasma display panel capable of recycling a CRT panel glass as a glass material.

SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a glass substrate for a plasma display panel, the glass material is molded to the glass substrate after the glass material is melted in a smelting furnace. In this case, crushed CRT panel glass is used as a part of the glass material.
