摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert black without increasing the operating frequency of a scanning signal line driving circuit and with low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A data signal line driving circuit 5 applies a black display voltage for turning on a writing TFT 14 in a pixel circuit 10 to data signal lines D1 to Dm, while a non-selection voltage is applied to all scanning signal lines G1 to Gn. Thus, the black display voltage is written in the pixel circuit 10, without operating the scanning signal line driving circuit 4. The scanning signal line driving circuit 4 applies a selection voltage to the scanning signal lines G1 to Gn, according to the order of making the total light emission time between adjacent rows almost equal. The data signal line driving circuit 5 applies a display data voltage to the data signal lines D1 to Dm, according to that order.
