PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position and hold an optical sheet easily on a light guide plate.

SOLUTION: The lighting unit 15 includes a light guide plate 21 and at least a sheet of optical sheet 22 arranged on the main surface of the light guide plate 21. The optical sheet 22 has a folding-back part 27 in which part of the optical sheet is folded back at the both sides 22b and 22d facing each other, and the light guide plate 21 has recesses 28 in which the folding-back parts 27 are respectively inserted into the both end faces 21e and 21f facing each other.
