<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing device of simple structure capable of surely absorbing a shock. <P>SOLUTION: This shock absorbing device comprises an outside pipe 1 having a bottom part 16, a shock absorbing part 15, an upper part 11 and a connection part 13 and formed with a tapered boundary surface 14 between the connection part 13 and the shock absorbing part 15, an inside pipe 2 having a bottom part, a base part 24 formed with one or more holes 25, an upper part 21 and a side wall part 22 and arranged inside the outside pipe 1 freely to coaxially slide, one or more resistors 3 arranged inside the holes 25, a support 5 having a first, a second and a third parts and movably arranged inside the inside pipe 2, an inside pipe moving means 7 for giving energizing force to the inside pipe 2, and a support moving means 6.
