摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: partially cation-substituted type calcium titanate fine particles; a method for producing the same: and an application of the calcium titanate fine particles. SOLUTION: The method for producing orthorhombic calcium titanate oxide fine particles in which strontium and iron are each partially substituted in lattice sites of calcium and titanium and which have primary particle diameters of &le;50 nm, a surface area of &ge;60 m<SP>2</SP>/g and a high degree of crystallization, and are free from aggregation comprises subjecting calcium ions, strontium ions, titanium ion and iron ions to a hydrothermal reaction in water being in a super-critical state or a sub-critical state. Partially cation-substituted type calcium titanate oxide fine particles and a carrier oxide for a catalyst for a partial oxidation of methane are also provided. Partially substituted type calcium titanate not containing crystal water and a hydroxy group and having a high degree of crystallization can be obtained by the method.
