PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bolt previously retained in a bolt hole from corotating when a nut is fastened. SOLUTION: In a steel plate jointing method, an axial direction dimension is a dimension a little smaller than the sum of the plate thickness of a bottom steel plate 1 and a gusset plate 2, one end in an axial direction is smaller in diameter than the bolt hole of the bottom steel plate 1. A bolt temporarily securing nut 9 is formed in into a tapered shape in which the outer periphery is expanded in diameter greater than the bolt hole 3 of the bottom steel plate 1 from the one end in the axial direction toward the other end in the axial direction. The bolt temporarily securing nut 9 is screwed into the bolt 5 inserted into the bolt hole 3 of the bottom steel plate 1 from lower part, and the one end side in the axial direction is forcedly screwed into the gap between the bolt hole 3 and the bolt 5, so that the bolt 5 is temporarily secured into the bolt hole 3 without rotating. Thereafter, after the gusset plate 2 is mounted on the bottom steel plate 1, the nut 6 is fastened to the bolt 5, so that the bottom steel plate 1 and the gusset plate 2 are jointed.
