APPARATUS FOR FORMING COMPRESSIVE-STRESSED PART AND METHOD FOR FORMING PROTRUDING PART AND GLASS PRODUCT USING THE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably form a protruding part having uniform shape and height, even when the inorganic glass has a curved surface. SOLUTION: The apparatus for forming compressive-stressed part 1 is an apparatus to form a protruding part on a curved surface 2a of inorganic glass 2 and is equipped with a press bar 4, a pressing mechanism 5 which applies pressure on the surface of the inorganic glass with the press bar to form a compressed layer S on the surface showing an etching rate different from the other part to an etching solution and a moving mechanism 6 to continuously form the compressed layer on the surface of the inorganic glass by moving the press bar relative to the inorganic glass while applying pressure. The moving mechanism changes the position of at least either of the press bar or the inorganic glass in a way that the pressing direction of the press bar is roughly in line with the direction of the normal line at the contact point of the surface of the inorganic glass.
