<p>A process for lithographic-plate production which comprises: imagewise exposing a lithographic plate material comprising a substrate and, formed thereon, a photosensitive layer comprising a photo-thermal converting agent, an alkali-soluble resin, an acid generator, and an acid-decomposable compound represented by the following general formula (1) or (2); and then developing the material with a developing solution to produce a lithographic plate. The process is characterized in that the developing solution is an alkaline developing solution containing no alkali silicate. By the process, lithographic plates of stable image quality can be continuously obtained in large quantities.</p> |
