<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To not only reduce or prevent noise by remarkably reducing the number of noise suppression parts but also soothe mental fatigue by healing music, the sound of waves, the sound of raindrops, the murmur of a stream, bird's twittering or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This room air conditioner is provided with a sound generation means 2 in an air conditioner body 1. The sound generation means 2 is provided with a recording medium such as a CD or an ROM formed by recording various effective sounds, a memory controller 3 controlling the recording medium, an amplifier/speaker 4 generating reproduced sound of the recording medium, and a changeover switch 5 changing over a reproduction mode of the memory controller 3.
