PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes drying apparatus with high drying efficiency, capable of preventing reduction of the heat-exchange efficiency in a heat pump unit set in an extremely narrow space inside a drum type clothes dryer. SOLUTION: The clothes drying device has at least an intake or outlet of air for drying in the upper part of the heat pump unit 31, and long and short fins in the lower part of a heat absorber or radiator 23 as a heat exchanger to reduce the ventilation resistance. The ventilation resistance of the heat exchanger is set suitable for a heat exchange pathway by changing the length of part of the fins of the heat exchanger, and the high thermal conduction is possible by nearly uniforming the velocity distribution of air for drying passing through the heat exchanger, so that the reduction of the drying efficiency can be prevented.
