PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booklet stacking device of a collator capable of successively stacking booklets discharged from the collator in a consistent sorted state irrespective of the number, the thickness or the length of paper sheets constituting the booklets. SOLUTION: In the booklet stacking device of the collator which is provided on a booklet discharging unit of the collator, and moved to the left or the right for each booklet to be successively discharged, and sorts the booklets in a zigzag manner and stacks them on a booklet stacking stand, the number of paper sheets to be collated is read by the detection signal of a paper sheet detector 9 provided on each paper feed stage of the collator, the set time corresponding to the number of a set value storage table 8a is input by the detection signal of a discharge detector 10, and the movement to the left or the right of the booklet stacking stand is started when the set time is subtracted by the elapse of 1 msec, and the set time becomes zero. Due to the delay of the start of the movement, the booklets discharged on the booklet stacking stand are settled, and moved next in that state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
