WEFT KNITTING MACHINE HAVING SHOCK SENSORS

Provided is a weft knitting machine having shock sensors, which can change the sensitivity for sensing shocking vibrations, properly according to conditions for driving knitting needles. The shocking vibrations to accompany a needle breakage are sensed by shock sensors (1 - 6). The sensitivity of an accident decider (21) is set high or lower in dependence upon whether the running speed of a carriage (14) is low or high. The sensitivity of the accident decider (21) is so changed as can detect the vibrations due to the needle breakage or the like reliably, no matter whether the running speed of the carriage (14) might be high or low. The change of the sensitivity can be made for each course and in the course. The decision of the sensitivity change can also be made on the basis of the number of knitting needles used.
