<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waiting time until a video image is displayed on a monitor. <P>SOLUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver has authentication ICs 193a, 193b for performing authentication processing to pieces of external equipment 41, 42 connected to HDMI ports 191, 192, respectively, for each of a prescribed numbers of HDMI ports 191, 192 (in this case, two HDMI ports). An MPU 11 in the digital broadcasting receiver includes: a terminal selection section 113 for selecting one HDMI port 191 (or HDMI port 192) as a video signal input terminal, based on operation input received via a remote control 3; a video signal reception section 114 for receiving video signal information from external equipment 41 (or external equipment 42) connected via one selected HDMI port via the corresponding authentication IC 193a (or authentication IC 193b); and a display control section 115 for outputting received video signal information to a display 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
