PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette which can form a printing tape of a laminate type that is simple in structure and protects a printing surface capable of preventing adhesion of a pressure sensitive adhesive, and to provide a printer. SOLUTION: At a printing position in the tape cassette 3 equipped with both an ink ribbon 19 which has an ink layer formed on one surface and a film tape 17 which has a transparent film with a pressure sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface, the pressure sensitive adhesive layer and the ink layer side are contacted to each other, and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is heated by a thermal head 7. In consequence, an adhesiveness is generated, bonding the ink layer and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer to each other. Characters etc. are printed on the film tape 17. In the tape printer 10 with the tape cassette 1 attached thereto, the printed tape 17 is cut immediately after printing by arranging a cutter unit 14 immediately downstream of the thermal head 7. The size of the printing tape in the width direction of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is smaller than the width direction size of the opposed ink ribbon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
