PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production device for a connecting rod by coining free from residual strain. SOLUTION: Regarding a connecting rod W in which a column part W3 other than a large edge part W1 and a small edge part W2 is heated by a heating stage S4, the large edge part W1 and the small edge part W2 are subjected to pressurizing and coining by large edge side coining dies 2A, 2B, and small edge side coining dies 2C, 2D composed in such a manner that at least either coining die is movable to the other coining die in an approaching or leaving direction, and the column part W3 is cooled in the above coining state.
