PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-melting polyester resin for fiber production obtained without using an antimony catalyst, a polyester resin for a latently crimpable fiber, a thermally adhesive conjugated binder fiber and a latently crimpable polyester conjugated fiber preventing the generation of a fiber mass by static electricity in a process of producing a dry nonwoven fabric, and a dry nonwoven fabric comprising these fibers. SOLUTION: The low-melting polyester resin uses a terephthalic acid as a main acid component and ethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol as main diol components, and contains a solid solution comprising a magnesium compound and an aluminum compound as a polymerization catalyst. The thermally adhesive conjugated binder fiber comprises the low-melting polyester resin. The polyester resin contains isophthalic acid and isophthalic acid having a metal sulfonate group as acid components constituting the polyester resin consisting mainly of an ethylene terephthalate unit. The latently crimpable polyester conjugated fiber comprises the polyester resin. The dry nonwoven fabric uses these fibers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
