IMAGE PROCESSOR AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of reproducing a good image with a simple constitution.

SOLUTION: The image processor includes: an area detecting means for dividing a color gamut of display area of a display device into a plurality of areas and detecting an area including each color component input value of input image data from the divided areas; a coefficient selecting means for selecting a color gamut matrix coefficient corresponding to the area detected by the area detecting means from color gamut matrix coefficients set according to the plurality of areas; an image data correcting means for correcting each color component input value of the input image data by using the color gamut matrix coefficient selected by the coefficient selecting means, and generating output image data; and an output control means for controlling to output the output image data to the display device.
