<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preventing the leakage of cooling liquid without causing the looseness of a buried plug provided at the end of a screw shaft when bending moment or tensile force works thereon. <P>SOLUTION: This ball screw device 1 comprises the screw shaft 3 having a spiral shaft raceway groove 4 formed in the outer peripheral face and a hollow hole 5 formed in the center passing therethrough in the axial direction, a nut 15 having a nut raceway groove 16 in the inner peripheral face in opposition to the shaft raceway groove 4, and a plurality of balls 3 for threadedly engaging the shaft raceway groove 4 with the nut raceway groove 16. At the end of the hollow hole 5, a fitting hole 30 is provided which has a locking groove 36 formed in the inner peripheral face and the bottomed buried plug 31 is provided which is fitted to the inner peripheral face of the fitting hole 30. At an opening end 34 of the buried plug, a protruded portion 35 is formed which is protruded radially outside of the screw shaft 3.
