<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems such that there is no means to know the value of a regenerative braking resistance by only error indication when generative braking amount exceeds a permissible value and becomes an overvoltage due to being not able to release energy, also the cost of parts, repeated time loss for such as pressing order, delivery, replacement, operation test, pressing order, or the like of parts by replacing, or increasing or decreasing a regenerative braking resistance different in resistance value, in the conventional inverter devices. <P>SOLUTION: For solving the problems, the electric power values obtained from a electric power detecting means 11 are traced from acceleration start to constant speed to find power characteristics, the power characteristic at deceleration is conjected from the characteristics, the generative braking resistance and the generative braking capacity necessary to deceleration are calculated, and they are stored in arithmetic value 21 of the regenerative braking resistance and arithmetic value 22 of the regenerative braking electric power.
