<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device that reduces power loss. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor device is provided with a first power semiconductor element TUP and a second power semiconductor element TUN that are connected in series and connected to an inductive load and, respectively, to which an ON command and an OFF command are exclusively outputted in a first mode and in a second mode. The semiconductor device is also provided with a drive control circuit GUP that executes control in which, when the first power semiconductor element TUP is in an ON-state in the first mode, a current path for allowing a current to flow through the first power semiconductor element TUP and the inductive load is formed, when the first power semiconductor element TUP is in an ON-state in the second mode, the current path for allowing a current to flow through the first power semiconductor element TUP and the inductive load is cut off, and the first power semiconductor element TUP is made into an OFF-state regardless of an ON-command to the first power semiconductor element TUP in the second mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
