PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assay system greatly-improved in sensitivity than the ones based on a conventional cross current technique for enabling quick measurement of assay area in a test strip. SOLUTION: This cross current assay testing system has an assay test strip 10 and a cassette 30. The test strip is arranged in a housing designed so as to access the test strip from its horizontal direction instead of its vertical axis direction. The housing can also store a plurality of test strips. Preferably the housing is C-shape, the test strip is suspended between two C-shaped arms. The housing is sealed to protect both a user and equipment from contamination. Preferably the test strip is provided with supermagnetic particles.
