PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for displaying a color image by using a liquid, and to provide a display method of the liquid image display device. SOLUTION: In a state where conductive liquids 26a, 26b and 26c are connected to the negative electrode of a DC power source 34, droplets 28a, 28b and 28c of the yellow, cyan and magenta conductive liquids 26a, 26b and 26c are separately discharged from droplet discharge parts 32a<SB>1</SB>to 32a<SB>N</SB>, 32b<SB>1</SB>to 32b<SB>N</SB>and 32c<SB>1</SB>to 32c<SB>N</SB>into an insulating liquid 24 in monochromatic display parts 22a, 22b and 22c by separately applying a positive voltage to discharge electrodes 36a<SB>1</SB>to 36a<SB>N</SB>, 36b<SB>1</SB>to 36b<SB>N</SB>and 36c<SB>1</SB>to 36c<SB>N</SB>or controlling the electrode potential as a value zero on the basis of an image to be displayed.
