PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant compressor capable of recycling a suction muffler and effectively utilizing resources. SOLUTION: The refrigerant compressor includes an airtight container storing oil 102, a compressing element 105 for compressing a refrigerant 121, and an electric element 104 for driving the compressing element 105 therein, and has the suction muffler 112 mounted on the compressing element 105. The ratio of a pyrolytically decomposed resin material contained in a resin material forming the suction muffler 112 is set to 3 wt.% or less. Because deterioration in strength of the suction muffler 112 can be prevented and recycling of the suction muffler 112 is promoted, the refrigerant compressor that effectively utilizes resources can be provided.
